The question for the day is “Why do the birds attack my house?” No matter which room I am in, no matter what time of day, if I stand in one place long enough I am sure to hear the flutter of wings against the walls, and sometimes even the tapping of a beak on the window. These birds are not flying IN to the outer walls; there are no thumps that would indicate a high speed projectile has just made contact. Just these eerie flutters and taps. What do they want from me? I feed them. There are three feeders outside of my house. I suppose this question will go unanswered.
Well, I started changing around Ye Olde Web Site today. I was really sick of how it looked and I was also sick of the way my journal entries were laid out. This way is much easier than creating a new HTML page for each entry. It’s been so long since I did any HTML that I was screwing up my tags something fierce. Bah! I’m losing my skills!
Cleaned the house yesterday oh joy oh joy. It needed it pretty badly — the dust bunnies were forming a union. But now I’m good for another week or so at least. I really don’t like a messy home and yet I’m SO lazy when it comes to cleaning up that it’s pathetic.
The Man and I have been working on Heroes of Might and Magic 3 maps lately. His is based on his D&D world and mine is based on a world that will be the setting for a book that I probably will never write. It’s a fun way to pass the time.
I just finished re-reading the “Left Behind” series in anticipation of the next book coming out sometime soon. I suppose eventually I’ll have to re-read the Sword of Truth books too, but I’m kind of putting that off.
Went out with Vic last night. Well, actually “out” is the wrong term — we hung out at her place and chit-chatted. Got a nice little scare when her husband came home through the front door. I’ve never seen anyone use the front door at that house, so we weren’t exactly expecting it. All we heard was a bunch of rattling and crashing about, so of course we get all freaked out. She’s told me more than once about the things she’s seen and heard in that house that don’t make me feel safe from the supernatural over there!
I had to spade under my plants and stuff the other day. I guess summer is really over. There was a frost and it killed all my morning glory vines — what Vic calls the “Jungle”. So I had to hack those down. Not too fun, but kind of nice to be working outdoors. I’m kind of concerned about weathering the winter here. The windows are not what you’d call weather tight, and according to Vic I can look forward to the pipes freezing at least once. JOY.
Welp, I’m about all talked out for one day. Gonna jump in the shower and then entertain myself until The Man comes home. Gotta scrounge up something for dinner too. Maybe I’ll go club a squirrel or something. Who knows?
