If my car was an Autobot, that would be OK with me.

Transformers did not disappoint.  Awesome movie, indeed.  It was hard to tell the Decepticons apart, but since they didn’t really have much of a role in the movie (only really showing up in the last 30 minutes), it didn’t matter so much.  It was very cool that the same guy from the old cartoons did the voice of Optimus Prime – something familiar anyways.  There was also a lot of unexpected humor which really added to the coolness of the movie.  I loved it.

Sam ‘Spike’ Witwicky: So…
Maggie Madsen: What are you here for?
Sam ‘Spike’ Witwicky: I bought a car. Turned out to be an alien robot.
Glen: [whispered] Wow…!
Sam ‘Spike’ Witwicky: Who knew?

Foiled again.

Published by under Media,Outdoors

Our rowdy plans for the day, which included taking our rug to get cleaned and visiting the zoo have been foiled by weather and lack of planning.  It’s supposed to rain, rain, rain today in Detroit, which makes walking around a zoo sound like a somewhat soggy affair.  Plus, we didn’t really start thinking about getting on the road until 11 AM, and the zoo closes at 5 PM.  Since it would take us about 2.5 hours to get there and drop off the rug, that’s not leaving a lot of time for us to revel in animal life.  So, we’re going tomorrow instead.  The weather report is much more favorable.

We are going to console ourselves for our disappointment by going to see Transformers.  I hope this movie is good.  I predict I will have a hard time telling the robots apart, since they don’t seem to be as brightly colored as the originals.  I mean, Megatron, Starscream, and Jazz are all just silver.  What’s that about?

Happy Independence Day, Americans.

Published by under Holiday Magic

Yeah, so Happy Independence Day, Americans.  Happy July 4, everyone else in the world.

The Man and I are celebrating our independence by doing not much at all.  We are lazy Americans.  Tomorrow the plan is to take the Chinese rug down to Detroit to get cleaned, and then go to the zoo.  Dr. Mom tells us that they have a new arctic exhibit that is teh awesome.  I’m planning to take my camera and try to get some pictures.
